While time and space will not allow us to give gratitude to everyone who has played a part, we would like to personally recognize the following organizations and people that have been so instrumental to our success over the past year.
To our friends at the Studer Foundation and Mr. Quint Studer himself, the continued financial support and recognition you provide has enabled us to do so many things this year to showcase what is good in college football. And the televising of the presentation this year by your network was a phenomenal success. Our appreciation for your support and your friendship is more that words can say.
To Tim Brando of our National Selection Committee, many thanks for headlining the annual All Sports Association Corporate Fish Fry during banquet week in February, and then 6 months later, coming back to participate in the annual All Sports Association Golf Tournament. Timmy B, thanks go out to you from our entire community.
To our 2014 recipient Deterrian “D.T.” Shackelford, who has been an outstanding ambassador of the Wuerffel Trophy, thank you for coming back several times this year to speak with our high school youth, our F.C.A. chapter and for arranging an incredible Game Day Salute at Ole Miss. We look forward to seeing you this February.
To Rob Whalen and Tim Henning of the Heisman Trophy, and of course Executive Director Emeritus Rudy Riska, your support since day one has meant so much. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for us year after year.
To Ken Langlois, Tom Carew, Donald Agin, Ken Jernigan and the entire team at Herff Jones, the providers of the Wuerffel Trophy and financial assistance, we are so delighted that you have have now committed to share the ride with us through the year 2026. All we can say is, “Wow! 20 years of support! Thank you!”
To the National Football Foundation, and specifically Steve Hatchell, Matthew Sign, and Hillary Jeffries and all who are involved, thank you so much for taking us under your wing and welcoming us to your ceremonies in New York City. It is an honor to be alongside of such a first class organization and work together with you to highlight the great things that are happening in football.
To the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA), we cannot thank you enough for allowing us to be a part of your organization. To be associated with such an elite group of college football awards is so special to us. Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome to the NCFAA, in particular, to Mark Wolpert (Maxwell and Bednarik Awards), Walter Manley II (Biletnikoff Award), Tom Lally (Walter Camp Football Foundation), Steve Richardson and Ted Gangi (Outland Trophy) and David Bazzell (Broyles Award), we so appreciated your mentoring, guidance and friendship. Also, many thanks to NCFAA past president Danielle Moorman for her continued support.
To ESPN, a tremendous “Thank You” for allowing us to be a part of the Red Carpet Show and a guest of The Home Depot College Football Awards Show. Specifically to Pete Derzis, John Vassallo and Miranda Thorpe, thank you much for believing in us and allowing us to be a part of the festivities in Atlanta this year. It was an incredible experience!
To our good friends Mike Hibbison and Heather Dade-Themelis at The Home Depot, you are simply the best. The assistance that you’ve provided us with has been such a big part of our success this year. Thank you for your support, and equally as important, your friendship as well.
And finally, to our brothers at the All Sports Association in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, the birthplace of the Wuerffel Trophy, “Thank You” for allowing us the honor of presenting the Wuerffel Trophy at the most incredible awards banquet anywhere. Our out of town guests and past award recipients continue to be amazed at the event and look forward to coming back to it each year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Our wish is that God will bless each and every one of you this season and in the coming year.
